Dr. Andrew Sheean is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and complex surgical reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and medical degree from Rush Medical College. For three years, he served as a United States Air Force Flight Surgeon before beginning his surgical training at the military’s orthopaedic surgery residency program in San Antonio, TX. Upon completing his residency training, Dr. Sheean completed an additional year of fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University and currently practices orthopaedic sports medicine and complex shoulder surgery in San Antonio, Texas. Since 2021, he has served as an Associate Editor for Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery. When he is not working, Dr. Sheean enjoys spending time with his wife Hannah and their three boys, reading nonfiction, running, and teaching his sons how to play golf.
